The breakwater, harbour and town at Santa Cruz de la Palma, Canary Islands.
The breakwater, harbour and town at Santa Cruz de la Palma, Canary Islands. The photographer is looking along the breakwater showing boat landing steps in the foreground with a crowd of local people waiting for the arrival of tourists from a cruise ship. A small crane is on the breakwater and a number of motor cars are parked on the inland end of the breakwater. On the shore at the head of the harbour are a Shell petrol pump, a building with Texaco on it and a poster for Goodyear tyres on the hillside. The town is built on the lower slopes of the Caldera de Taburiente.
