The breakwater and harbour at Santa Cruz de la Palma, Canary Islands

The breakwater and harbour at Santa Cruz de la Palma, Canary Islands. The photographer is looking north-west-by-north from the breakwater showing men and boys by a fixed crane. A single screw motor launch with Gran Canaria on her transom is drawn up on the beach. On the right at the inland end of the breakwater is a garage forecourt with a Shell petrol pump and on the hill above is a large poster panel advertising Goodyear tyres. The wooded slopes of the Caldera de Taburiente are in the background.
