Boat traffic on the Singapore River, Singapore.
Boat traffic on the Singapore River, Singapore. The photographer is looking east-south-east along the river from a bridge connecting the North Boat Quay on the left with Boat Quay on the right. Sampans and cargo lighters are filling the river. The building on the right has "Goodrich Solid Tyre Service Station" on it. In the background is the tower of the Victoria Memorial Hall which was completed in 1909. The clock in the tower donated by the Straits Trading Company weighs 1 tonne and there is a bell turret above it, capped by a cupola.
