On the boarding brow of the Orient Line cruise ship Orford (1928) alongside Berth 34 on the Itchen Quays in Southampton docks, Hampshire. The brow leads up to the starboard side of the promenade deck aft and the photographer is looking forward showing the ship's side with a small brow leading up to the pilot doors amidships. Stothert & Pitt rail mounted 2 ton cranes are on the quayside and a small vessel is alongside Berth 36 in the background. A vertical format negative.
