The Toldbod building (customs house) on Skansegaten at Stavanger, Norway.

The Toldbod building (customs house) between the Skagenkaien and Skansegaten at Stavanger, Norway. The photographer is looking south-east from a boat in the harbour showing, on the inland side of Skansegaten, the Victoria Hotel and the premises of Stavanger Forsikrings Selskap A/S. The Toldblod was built in 1905. Further south along the Skagenkaien is a cargo steamship, possibly owned by Hardanger Sunnhordlandske Dampskipsselskap, under a rail mounted crane. The photographer is on a cruise on board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929).
