Looking over a rural landscape to the coast at Stavanger, Norway. The photographer is on a shore excursion from the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) and is looking from high ground over an unmade road with wooden construction detached houses in the foreground. Other detached houses are in the middle ground. On the coast in the centre background are oil storage tanks and a grain silo. Mountains are beyond the water.
