The photographer is on a shore excursion from the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) and is looking south-south-east from the north side of the pond showing the Parkkafeen and other buildings and a line of seats on the east side of the pond. A large tree is in the left foreground and people are walking on the pondside.
