Various small craft alongside commercial wharves at Stavanger, Norway.

Various small craft alongside commercial wharves at Stavanger, Norway. The photographer is looking along the waterfront showing steam and motor fishing vessels, including one named Vega, and three single masted cargo lighters at the wharves. The lighters are deeply laden with a bulk cargo. In the foreground is the stern of a wooden 2-masted sailing vessel which has a number of oil drums on the aft deck. Some of the commercial buildings are identified by company names including Jakobsens Kassefabrik, Stvgr. Badeanstalt (Varmtvandsbadet) and O.A. Laerdal. Laerdal's premises advertise Bruk Froy, Honsefor, Svinefor and Melkefor.
