The photographer is on a shore excursion from the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) and is looking south-east-by-east from the west side of the pond showing residential buildings, a line of seats and Benson's Standard garage on the east side of the pond. The tree-lined Jernbaneveien is on the right.
