The fish harbour at Stavanger, Norway.

The fish harbour at Stavanger, Norway. The photographer is on a shore excursion from the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) and is looking north along the Skagenkaien waterfront showing steam and motor fishing vessels alongside the quays and jetty. Some of the vessels are identifiable by name or port registration including the steamer Roal R188S and the motor vessels Lissy and R7F. The jetty in the middle ground has stacks of fish boxes, some oil drums and two motor lorries on it. The buildings in the background include the premises of Chr. Bjellands & Co. A/S and the building in the right foreground is occupied by Konrad Kristoffersen.
