Gamla Stan and the Soderstrom at Stockholm, Sweden. The photographer is looking north-west from an elevated position near the shore in Sodermalm showing the cloverleaf road and the Slussbron in the foreground. The Slussplan is in the right with the statue of Karl XIV Johan on horseback in the centre of the square. Commercial premises face the Slussplan including an opticians, a shoe shop, a confectioner, a tobacconist, the Svenska Handelsbanken and others. One of the buildings has "C.A. Abergs & Co, Sormlandsbanken, Lundins Klader" on it and another has "Saltsjoqvarns Kejsarkronan" on it. The Kornhamnstorg Square is to the left of the Slussplan facing the Soderstrom. The spire of the German Church and the bell tower of the Storkyrkan are in the centre.
