Seascape from the 'Panaglis M. Hadoulis'

A rapid sketch from the 'Panaghis M. Hadoulis', looking towards a three-masted ship silhouetted on the horizon. The ship is very loosely sketched and lacks any detail. Similarly the movement of the waves has been sketched using short brush strokes of colour. The sky occupies half the picture space with blocks of colour representing clouds. Everett sailed in the Greek-owned steamer, 'Panaghis M. Hadoulis', from Cardiff, Wales, to Montevideo, Uruguay, and back between December 1931 and March 1932. The painting is inscribed 'PMH' verso.
