The photographer is looking forward from the top of the aft accommodation ladder on the starboard side showing two of her motor lifeboats suspended alongside the hull from the falls of the davits. A landing place with a wooden hut are on the shore on the right and an arm of the Svartisen Glacier in a valley between the mountains is in the centre of the picture.
