A view of Tynemouth Priory & Castle, and the Tynemouth Sailing Club, looking northwards, taken during the Cutty Sark Tall Ships Race in July 1993. The ruins of the castle and the visitor centre are on the top of a hill in the background. A small beach along with a partial view of the North Pier can be seen at the bottom of the hill. The beach is full of people and an Enterprise sailing dinghy, a number of kayaks and a life guard vessel are moored on the edge of the beach. A number of covered small craft can be seen on car trailers further back from the beach edge. The Tynemouth Sailing Club building is further back from the beach on the left hand side of the image.
