A distant port quarter view of a topsail schooner and various small craft in Tynemouth Harbour, taken during the Tall Ships race in 1993.

A distant port quarter view of a three-masted topsail schooner and various small craft in Tynemouth Harbour, taken during the Tall Ships race in 1993. The schooner has a black painted hull, but is situated too far away to be identified. The No. 1 jib, staysail, foresail and mainsail are set along with the square foretopsail. The sails on the mizzen mast mast have not been set. Off the stern of the schooner, in the background, is a spritsail barge with its sails furled. In front of the schooner within the harbour are a variety of small craft and Bermudan-rigged yachts. A small passenger ferry can be seen amongst the small craft. The South Shields pier can be seen in the background.
