Roofs of London
William Lionel Wyllie (1851-1931) was born into an artistic family. He is well-known today as a splendid maritime artist. He painted a number of different places, but he clearly had a passion for the river Thames, as this romantic view of London rooftops shows. As a young man, Wyllie lived upon a barge on the Thames, and converted it into a floating studio.
