The harbour and shipping in the bay at Tangier, Morocco. The photographer is looking east over the roof of the custom building showing lighters and a tug alongside the north wharf which is equipped with various small cranes and a single storey shed. Shell oil storage tanks are on the left and a lighthouse is on the end of the north breakwater. A number of ships are anchored out in the bay including an unidentified passenger/cargo ship, the Donaldson Line cruise ship Letitia (1925) which is dressed overall, the Italian Navy scout cruiser Quarto (1911) which has awnings rigged aft, two tankers and an unidentified French Navy destroyer.
