Tidal wave damage to the sea wall and coastal railway line at Taormina, Sicily. On 9 November 1930 a 2.5 metre high tidal wave hit the coast and breached a section of the sea wall protecting the railway line. The photographer is looking east-by-south along the damaged railway line showing men repairing the track near the entrance to the tunnel that runs under Capo Taormina.
