On board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) in the Strait of Gibraltar passing Tarifa, Spain.
On board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) in the Strait of Gibraltar passing Tarifa, Spain, while heading into the Mediterranean on a cruise. The photographer is looking to port and slightly aft across the promenade deck from the aft end of the boat deck showing passengers near the ship's rail. Three of the passengers are wearing number labels on their clothing; a man standing on the left has the number 215 on his cardigan, an elderly woman sitting in a deckchair on the right has 172 on her coat and a young woman standing by the steps has an indecipherable number on her blouse. The bow of the motor tender A on her deck chocks is on the left.
