Three manual lifeboats alongside the aft accommodation ladder on the starboard side of the Orient Line cruise ship Orion (1935) anchored in a Norwegian fjord.
Three manual lifeboats alongside the aft accommodation ladder on the starboard side of the Orient Line cruise ship Orion (1935) anchored in a Norwegian fjord. The photographer is looking down and forward from the main deck showing lifeboat number 3 inboard of number 4 with number 6 moving away. They have been manned almost entirely by passengers and are getting ready for a race between them. Two of the boats have tossed their oars. A motor lifeboat which is out of shot is preparing to tow the boats away from the ship. Negatives numbers P84420 to P84439 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
