A slightly distant port broadside view of the Orient Line cruise ship Orion (1935) at anchor in a Norwegian fjord.
A slightly distant port broadside view of the Orient Line cruise ship Orion (1935) at anchor in a Norwegian fjord. She has both anchors deployed and an accommodation ladder is rigged to the main deck aft, with a ship's boat alongside it. The ship's forecastle and forward rails are lined with passengers and crew watching the regatta activity on the water. The depth of field of the negative is such that the image of the ship is not in focus. In the foreground is one of the ship's manual lifeboats, manned almost entirely by passengers, engaged in a race. There are patches of snow on the mountains in the background. Negatives numbers P84420 to P84439 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
