The village and harbour of Thasos on the island of Thasos, Greece
The village and harbour of Thasos on the island of Thasos, Greece. The photographer is looking north-west-by-north over the village and old harbour from a rocky outcrop. A small number of sailing vessels are moored in the harbour which has leading lights at the entrance on both breakwaters. A 2-masted schooner and the Donaldson Line cruise ship Letitia (1925) are anchored offshore. The Letitia is seen from just ahead of her starboard beam. The village is also known as Limenas which is Greek for 'port'.
