The harbour waterfront of the village of Thasos on the island of Thasos, Greece
The harbour waterfront of the village of Thasos on the island of Thasos, Greece. The photographer is looking south-west along the shore at the south-east end of the harbour showing small boats and a 2-masted schooner at moorings and other boats drawn up on shore. The boat on the left of the picture has a large number of octopi draped over the yard and boom to dry. A small number of local people and tourists from the Donaldson Line cruise ship Letitia (1925) are on the waterfront. On the extreme left is the clock tower of Saint Nicholas Church. The village is also known as Limenas, which is Greek for 'port'.
