The photographer is on board the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) anchored offshore looking at the town showing Tinos Monastery at the foot of the hill to the left of centre. On the right is the landing place with a welcoming arch and a crowd of people. Motor tender N is heading back to the ship from the shore.
