The waterfront and landing pier at Scarborough, Tobago, West Indies.
The waterfront and landing pier at Scarborough, Tobago, West Indies. The photographer is on a shore excursion from the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) and is looking along the beach and across the bay showing the landing pier with one of the motor tenders from the Orontes alongside the steps. A long line of motor cars are parked in front of the single storey buildings at the landward end of the pier. Many of the buildings of the settlement are scattered amongst the palm trees on the low hill above the pier. A large palm tree is in the foreground.
