The photographer is on a shore excursion from the Peninsular & Oriental Steam Navigation Company cruise ship Viceroy of India (1929) which is anchored in the Trangisvaagsfjordur and is seen from just ahead of her port beam. In the foreground are open rowing boats, some of which have port numbers on them including TG.426, TG.680 and TG.676. Some motor fishing vessels are alongside the wharf including ones numbered TG.19 and TG.14.
