An anchor sculpture in a park at Travemunde, Germany. An admiralty pattern stocked anchor mounted on a stone plinth which extols the virtues of N.S. Volkswohlfahrt (National Social Services) in Hitler's Germany. Eight services are listed on the plinth: Pflege der Mütter (care of mother); Pflege der Kinder (care of children); Familienhilfe (Help for the family); Jugendhilfe (Help for young people); Hitlerfreiplatzspende (Hitler's free place donation); Wohnungshilfe (Help with accommodation); Volksgesundheit (People's health) and Volksdienst in allen Nöten (People's service in all needs).
