The beach and a boat jetty to the north of the River Trave at Travemunde, Germany.

The beach and a boat jetty to the north of the River Trave at Travemunde, Germany. The photographer is looking east-by-north from the beach showing a number of large wicker basket seats scattered about the sands and seemingly each seat is protected by a sand bund. These seats are all numbered with a K.V. prefix. In the foreground is a sand sculpture that includes human figures and a face. Rental yachts are alongside the end of the long jetty. Anchored offshore in the distance and seen from well ahead of her port beam is the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929).
