Seascape from the 'Panaghis M. Hadoulis'
A rapid sketch showing an empty horizon from the deck of the 'Panaghis M. Hadoulis'. The movement of waves is shown through a series of diagonal brush strokes in various shades of blue. These are flecked with white to indicate the crests. The cloud formation is shown as blocks of pink, grey and cream and the sky. Everett sailed in the Greek-owned steamer, 'Panaghis M. Hadoulis', from Cardiff, Wales, to Montevideo, Uruguay, and back between December 1931 and March 1932. The painting is inscribed 'PMH' verso.
