The pitch loading jetty at La Brea, Trinidad. The photographer is on a shore excursion from a cruise ship and is looking north-north-west from a slight rise near the shore showing the jetty partially obscured by palm trees. the jetty is equipped with an overhead transporter system for moving the barrels of pitch from the factory to the loading gantries near the seawtard end of the jetty. On the left a single masted cargo vessel is alongside a short pier fitted with a sheerlegs.
