Sloops alongside the west end of the South Quay at Port of Spain, Trinidad.
Cargo sloops alongside the west end of the South Quay at Port of Spain, Trinidad. The photographer is looking north-west-by-west along the wharves fronting the single storey warehouses. In the foreground and seen from off her starboard bow is a sloop named Lady Irma (fl. 1930) but her bow is out of the picture. Two sloops have the letter A in a circle on the bow; one is handling a cargo of full sacks and the other is fully laden with large bales. The harbour lookout and searchlight tower is in the centre of the picture. A passenger/cargo steamer is in the left background and she has the letters ZA on her funnel.
