Transporting the coffin of an important Italian Fascist from ship to shore at Naples, Italy.

Transporting the coffin of an important Italian Fascist from ship to shore at Naples, Italy. The coffin, a plain rectangular box, is being loaded into the motor hearse watched by the official mourners, while other members of the cortege are sorting out the floral tributes. The route is lined with uniformed people, many of whom are in youth organisations, and fascist sympathisers. The Tirrenia coastal passenger/cargo liner which brought the coffin to Naples is alongside the quay. The identity of the ship is not known but it is one of Citta di Napoli (1929), Citta di Tunisi (1929), Citta di Genova (1930) or Citta di Palermo (1930). Berthed beyond this ship is a passenger/cargo liner of the American Dollar Line and beyond the american ship is an Italian passenger liner of the Cosulich Line. Negatives numbers P96145 to P96155 inclusive are of this event.
