Transporting the coffin of an important Italian Fascist from ship to shore at Naples, Italy.

Transporting the coffin of an important Italian Fascist from ship to shore at Naples, Italy. The flag-draped coffin has been moved to the quay from a ceremonial lighter which has been towed to the quayside after the coffin had been loaded onto it from the Tirrenia coastal passenger/cargo liner which brought the coffin to Naples. The identity of the ship is not known but it is one of Citta di Napoli (1929), Citta di Tunisi (1929), Citta di Genova (1930) or Citta di Palermo (1930). The coffin is now on the shoulders of ten men and is about to be carried to the flower bedecked motor hearse. The quayside is lined with the official mourners, uniformed people, including members of youth organisations, and spectators, some of whom are giving the fascist salute. A band is in the background. Negatives numbers P96145 to P96155 inclusive are of this event.
