An unidentified passenger/cargo steamship in an unspecified open harbour, possibly in the West Indies.
A distant view of an unidentified passenger/cargo steamship, seen from very fine off the starboard bow, in an unspecified open harbour, possibly in the West Indies. The photographer is on board a cruise ship offshore and a local motor launch laden with people is under way approaching his ship. Open fronted sheds line the waterfront and a large number of single and 2-masted sailing vessels are close to the wharves. This settlement occupies a narrow strip of land at the foot of a forrested hill and halfway up the hill slope is a white painted fort with a signal mast. Negative number P96176 is very similar but is slightly out of focus.
