Seascape from the 'Ravenspoint'
An atmospheric sketch of an empty horizon from the 'Ravenspoint'. Everett has captured the effects of the sun on the surrounding sky and the sea. The sun is shown in the centre, as a brilliant orb of thick paint surrounded by a sky bathed in yellow light tinged with pink and red flecks. The brilliance of the sun is captured by the white and yellow reflections on the water in the centre of the painting. Everett sailed in the steamer, 'Ravenspoint', from Liverpool to the Mediterranean between January and February 1935. The painting is inscribed 'Rav' verso.
