Seascape from the 'Ravenspoint'

A sketch showing the movement of waves in a lively sea from the 'Ravenspoint'. On the left a wave is shown flecked with light-coloured paint to indicate foam. The trough of the wave is positioned diagonally from the left towards the centre of the painting. The sea is painted a very dark blue with lighter touches indicating the foam. The sky is represented as a flat wash of pink and yellow with a band of blue on the horizon. Everett sailed in the steamer, 'Ravenspoint', from Liverpool to the Mediterranean between January and February 1935. The painting is inscribed 'Rav', 'Med T' verso.
