Niobe (1866)
Scale: 1:48. A plan showing the carved work on the bows proposed for Niobe (1866), a wooden screw sloop. It also includes a pencil annotation ‘Nothing by a scroll & Niobe’ and on a second line ‘NIOBE’ written inside a ribbon.
The carving is identical on each side, consisting of a stylised leaf scroll with a crown, bow and quiver of arrows in the scroll.
