Tartarus (cancelled 1864)

Scale: 1:48. Plan showing a half stern-board, starboard quarter, and bow, headrail, head and space for a proposed figurehead for Tartarus (cancelled 1864), a 4-gun, First Class screw gunvessel (screw sloop). This ship was cancelled in 1864 and the plan does not include any sketches for the ‘drops’ between the windows of the stern and quarter or the figurehead. The plan does include the measurements for the areas between the windows and the top of the head to aid scaling the figurehead, if it had been sketched.

Signed by Henry Cradock [Master Shipwright, Pembroke Dockyard, 1859-1864]. The plan includes Admiralty Letter Book numbers S7013 / 7194.
