Four of the manual lifeboats of the Orient Line cruise ship Orion (1935) racing in an unknown location.

Four of the manual lifeboats of the Orient Line cruise ship Orion (1935) racing in an unknown location. This is a slightly distant port bow view of the boats which are manned by crew members and are being escorted by a motor lifeboat acting as safety boat. The two leading boats are numbers 3 and 4 and boat 5 is only a few lengths back but the remaining boat is far astern. The photographer is on board the Orion looking down on the boats as they approach the finish line. Negatives numbers P84472 to P84475 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
