A motor lifeboat towing four of the manual lifeboats of the Orient Line cruise ship Orion (1935) to the start of a race. The location is unknown. This is a port quarter view of the boats which are manned by crew members and are being towed in line astern by a motor lifeboat which will also act as safety boat. Some of the oars in one of the boats have been tossed. The photographer is on board the Orion looking down on the boats as they head off to the start line. The horizon is not level. A vertical format negative. Negatives numbers P84472 to P84475 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
