A port near broadside view, taken from just abaft the beam, of the Orient Line cruise ship Orion (1935) at anchor off Abbazia, Italy, on the northern Adriatic coast. The ship has her starboard anchor deployed, an accommodation ladder is rigged to shell doors below the main deck aft and ship's boats are shuttling between the ship and the landing stage. The Blue Peter flag is flying at the port yardarm on the foremast. No. 2 seaboat is swung out and suspended at boat deck level and number 16 lifeboat has been launched. The photographer is ashore on the landing stage as motor tender IV arrives laden with passengers.
