A single screw merchant steamship is undergoing repairs in the floating dock in the background and she does not appear to have a bow. Alongside the breakwater wharf in the right background is the stripped hull of a steamship, presumably being broken up. The negative is captioned "S.S. Ormonde at Barcelona Aug. 1934" and it has been signed "A.J. Sanson Captain" in the lower right corner.
