Looking down over the ship's rail on board the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) showing one of her motor tenders alongside manoeuvring to load a canvas sling of cargo. The tender is seen from high above her port quarter and she is crewed by seven men, four of whom are looking up at the canvas sling which is being lowered from the ship. The sling may contain the ship's mail which is being taken ashore for onward transmission. A vertical format negative.
