A slightly distant port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) anchored and moored in the Saltsjon at Stockholm, Sweden. She has both anchors deployed and an accommodation ladder is rigged aft with one of her boats alongside it. Lifeboat number 18 has been launched and a rubbish lighter is alongside amidships. Moored in the background and seen from off her starboard beam is the Swedish Navy hulk Vanadis (1862). She is a former steam frigate that was hulked in 1894 and broken up between 1939 and 1945. The photographer is looking east from Slussen on Gamla Stan showing the Stockholm to Sandhamn passenger ferry Sandhamn II (fl. 1930) at a pier on the left. On the right is a pier with the harbour tugs Emy (fl.1930), Hugin (1918), Munin (1918) and Stromakaren (fl. 1930) alongside it.
