Two manual lifeboats from the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) heading for the race start in Sognefjord, off Balholm Norway. The photographer is on board the anchored ship looking at the two boats which are manned by passengers and each boat is under the supervision of two crew members. The boats are seen from off the port beam, the nearest boat is Number 9 and her crew have tossed their oars. Negatives numbers P84614 to P84618 inclusive and P85487 and P85488 were taken on the same occasion.
