Port side views, taken from ahead of the beam, of three manual lifeboats from the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) racing in Sognefjord, off Balholm, Norway. The photographer is on board the anchored ship looking at the boats which are manned by passengers with each boat being under the supervision of two crew members. The nearest boat appears to be crossing the finish line and some of the oarspersons have stopped rowing. Negatives numbers P84614 to P84618 inclusive were taken on the same occasion.
