A port side view, taken from ahead of the beam, of the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) at anchor in an unknown location. She has her starboard anchor deployed and an accommodation ladder is rigged aft. Lifeboat 18 has been launched. The photographer is in a boat heading away from the ship and on the right is an headland that has what appears to be a fortification on it. Another passenger ship is at anchor in the left background. The horizon is not quite level.
