A very distant port quarter view of the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) at anchor in an unknown location. She has an accommodation ladder rigged aft and is emitting a column of smoke from her after funnel. A few small boats are near her, including one that may have a lateen yard rigged to a single mast. The ship's motor tender No. 2 laden with passengers is coming alongside a landing stage in the foreground. One of the ship's crew is standing on the stage and a number of people, including another of the ship's crew, are standing by the guard rails above the landing platform.
