A distant port side view, taken from well abaft the beam, of the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) at anchor off Rapallo, Italy. Her starboard anchor is deployed and she has an accommodation ladder rigged aft with a boat alongside it. One of her boats is heading for the shore. The photographer is on the beach in Rapallo harbour looking south-by-east and in the foreground is the Castello sul Mare (Castle-on-the-Sea), which was erected in 1551. Three small boys are on the beach near the water's edge. A vertical format negative.
