On board the Orient Line cruise ship Orontes (1929) looking forward and slightly to starboard from the port side of the poop. A large number of passengers are occupying every vantage point, including the end of the boat deck, to watch an event that is taking place in the swimming pool between the samson posts on the promenade deck. The position of the photographer is such that nothing can be seen of the actual pool or the event.
